Legal Question in Civil Litigation in Minnesota

concilliation to distrct court

We won a judgment in conciliation court. The defendant challenged and case was moved to district court. Is there a way to compel the judge (referee) from conciliation court to testify on our behalf? Defendant admitted in small claims that she offered us a settlement. Now she is saying she did not. She hired an attorney. We cannot afford to do so. I need to submit witness list by Monday, Feb. 9, 2009. Would appreciate your help.

Re: concilliation to distrct court

Your case in District Court is DE NOVO, which means that NOTHING that happened in CC is relevant. It is like STARTING OVER.

If you care about the outcome in District Court, you should have an attorney. It is no place for amateurs.
