Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in Minnesota

I own a house and rent out rooms in the house. Recently, I signed a lease with a guy I know through a friend and I trusted him. Now the first check he gave me for security deposit and first month's rent has bounced He has not moved in yet. Can I legally break the lease agreement with no threat on my end?

Until he pays the rent and deposit, there is no contract, so Demand cash or MO, unless you really want out of the deal. He may sue, but that will probably be less hassle than if he moves in.

Rent the video "Pacific Heights" before doing anything else (Michael Keaton is the tenant from hell) and you'll be prepared for anything.
