Legal Question in Criminal Law in Mississippi
I was just recently place on non-adjudecated probation in Mississippi for a marijuana possession charge and sentenced to 22 days in county jail. I have met a probation officer once in the county i was convicted in and he assigned me to a PO in the county I live in. My first official PO meeting is in a week. 4 yrs. ago I got a driving with a suspended license ticket and failed to appear in court for it. I have paid for background checks and found nothing. I have called the the highway patrol and my license is still valid. On my first visit will my PO run a criminal background check ? And if he finds a bench warrant for that ticket will he immediately violate me and send me back to jail? I am sincere about remedying this ASAP but I fear that I wont be able to before we meet in a week.

You need to contact the court in which you got the suspended license citation and take care o fit immediately. Otherwise the Court may inquire why you failed to take care of it as soon as you learned it was there? He can violate you for an old crime but it is unlikely. The probation started with the date of the plea, not based on pre-plea conduct.
