Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Missouri

Statute of limitations on collecting a debt

I had a car repossesed 2 years ago. the loan company has just now contacted me on collecting the balance on the loan. After 2 years with no notification at all; can they enforce the remaining balance on me? If so, what are some options.

Re: Statute of limitations on collecting a debt

I assume that you signed a promissory note when you purchased the car. If so, the lender has ten years within which to file suit against you. I have handled many such cases from both sides, and I am certain that I can help you. Please call for a free consultation. 314-727-2822. Michael R. Nack
