Courts allow officers to lie (with some limitations) to entice defedants and witnesses to provide evicdence. These officers are seldom prosecuted for telling such lies. On the bright side, is that when and oifficer has been shown to lie in a case, their tesitmony is subject to question in all other aspects of the case. If an officer lied to you, and caused you to take a certian course of action, you may be able to convince a judge to reverse that action, by presenting the lie as the reason that the action was taken.

Good luck
