I just had my bank account levied and I have a financial hardship. How do I go about having the levy removed so that I can pay for my necessities?

Unless you can show that the funds in the account come from an exempt source (social security, child support, etc), you can only claim the first $1,000 as exempt.

You can file a motion with the court to vacate all or part of the levy. If the case is in the Special Civil Part (the docket number begins with either SC or DC), you can get forms from the Special Civil Part Clerk in your county to file the motion.
