Re: denial of services

Not really, but you may have a claim for theft of services, which would require that you sue him. I suggest starting by reporting him to the State labor department, possibly IRS and the State Tax Department, if employment taxes are involved and are deducted from your wages, as he may not be making the required contributions.

Re: denial of services

You should report the matter immediately to the New Jersey Department of Labor. Lawguru will intercept a telephone number here, but you should be able to find it in the Blue Pages of a NJ telephone book.

The State has a special interest in ensuring that employees are paid on time. Failure to pay employees is one of the final signs of insolvency and the employees are not eligible for unemployment assistance until they are actually unemployed. So, back wages might never get paid. The State has an interest in seeing that that does not happen. If you report the problem, I predict that the DoL will be on him promptly.
