Legal Question in Criminal Law in New Jersey

warrant since 1999

Hi,

I presently live in Canada and in 1999 i've been arrested at wildwood crest NJ for marijuana stubs possession and failed to appear in court. A bench warrant was issued against me at the border ( Nj or Us ??). Since then i did not return to the US. Last month i contacted a Private detective who conducted a background check under my name and my case number in NJ at the US borders and other databases. The result was null. The response was that my case was either sealed or inexistant because of my international status. Now i am affraid to enter the US and get arrested. What should i do?

Re: warrant since 1999

You should have me appear in that court with your affidavit authorizing me to handle the matter.

Of course I would have a bail set so that the warrant can be withdrawn. Once the bail is set you could enter the country without fear.

If you are a first offender I could easily get the charged dismissed after you submitted to a period of supervision from Canada.

Call me if you like.
