Legal Question in DUI Law in New Jersey

My son was charge with CDS in NJ. He is 17. He was parked in a parking lot of a golf course. I wanted to see of there was anything to worry about. I also don't want him to lose his license.

Can you please advise.

It will depend on the specific charge. If it was possession of marijuana under 50 grams and he has no prior offenses a conditional discharge may be possible. With respect to whether or not he will lose his license it will depend on the particulars. Although CDS offenses are viewed as minor they can have a big impact on employment, financial aid, etc. I would advise hiring an attorney to fully explore the facts and secure a favorable resolution.

Of course! He needs help. He could lose his license for a time, but the main thing is to get him into a drug program. That is the most important. And get him an experienced attorney.
