What does it mean when a lawyer writes to a judge and states that the Motion and Cross-Motion...have been "marked ready hold" for 1:30 pm?

Probably, he is scheduled to be elsewhere and cannot appear in court until that time

Make sure that the court is going to adhere to that time, so yuo are not surprised..it is not meant to be underhanded in any way....
