Legal Question in Family Law in New Jersey

Moving out of state

I am divorced 2yrs this june. My ex continues to harrass me regarding my living conditions. currently i am living with a friend whom my ex has caused verbal harm to. i recently reconnected with an old beau and we are talking about the future together, he is in the navy though. my ex has a friend who is an attorney and has made disparaging remarks regarding my good faith attempts while he was recovering from a heart attach where i allowed the children visitation around the clock. I cannot afford an attorney and do not have family in state to assist with my living situation.. will i ever be able to move on after my divorce and start a new life? My ex has threatened to fight me all the way, told me i can move out of state and to leave the children. i have two kids 11 & 8yrs of age. any suggestions?

Re: Moving out of state

You will have to file a formal motion with the Court for relocation. Your ex-husband can oppose the move, but if you can establish that you have a good faith basis for the move, then a Court is likely to permit the move.

Have you tried legal services/legal aid? Otherwise, do you or this guy you are with have a credit card? If you do, you can afford an attorney.
