Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in New Jersey

My mother reinstated me as POA and told me she told her grand-daughter that I was POA. Grand-daughter confronted me and said her attorney said I need to write her a letter notifying her I am POA. She will assume POA as current and act on it if I don't send her a copy of POA and letter stating I am POA. Would she face consequences if she acts on it? I haven't notified her where my mother is at now and will file a missing person if I don't contact her about POA.

I have not read either the current or new POAs, so I do not know what is said about notice to a former holder of a POA when a new one is appointed. Usually, a POA says it is effective until revoked and contains language about how it is revoked and what notices regarding revocation are required. It may be that the original POA must be notified that their authority has been revoked and how the noice of revocation needs to be delieverd and to whom.
