Legal Question in Disability Law in New York

Back Injury

If my employer fires me because I cannot perform my duties as I was hired because of a back injury I have, can they pass that information on to a potential new employer that could call them?

My concern is that if they tell a potential new employer that I have a 'bad back' I could then be seen as a risk if hired.

Re: Back Injury

There is a problem with disclosing confidential medical information. My suggestion is for you to speak directly with an attorney and give him/her specific information on your circumstance.
