LLC filing

On an LLC filing in new york city, is the ''service of process name'' the secretary of state? or a designated agent?

The language generally reads:

"The Sec. of State is designated as agent for service of process and shall mail such process to the LLC at the following address: ."

Take a look at the legals column in the NYTimes or similar paper; that will give you a good model to go by.

NYS does not require a registered agent other than the Sec. of State.
