You have committed a CRIME, a crime that the Federal Government is taking VERY seriously today since there are too many people stealing others identities and then afterwards using these identities for al lsorts of illegal activity.

You asked if your cousin can make trouble for you, the answer is 100% YES, if you are reported to the authorities they will investigate and you could be facing potential jail time, at the very least the Statute of Limitations is not up on this type of crime so you could still easily be arrested and then be held for 24 hours before going before a judge for an arraignment and having to continue on with a criminal case, it' wouldn't be pretty regardless because you have potentially put yourself in a class of criminal that the Attorney General's office is heavily looking into and prosecuting Federally, I know because I worked with an Attorney General's office doing work very similar to what i'm describing.

If I were you I would retain an attorney to help me through this process, and seek a assistance in forming a contractual agreement wherein you have your cousin specifically state she will decline to prosecute you, or move forward with an yprosecution, if you pay back all the money as you've already stated you would.

You are not allowed under the law to assume someone's identity. It is a CRIME. Theft of identity is a growing problem and the authorities take it seriously. Since you will pay of the debt IMMEDIATELY and promise NEVER NEVER NEVER to do anything like that again, probably nothing will happen. If you do it again, you may end up with a conviction and serve time in jail. DON'T DO THAT ANYMORE. You should want to establish your own credit anyway for the future...
