Legal Question in Family Law in New York

I am in the process of joining the military. I currently have sole custody of my 10 year old son. His father has visitation. I am married and my husband will be caring for all of my children whilst I am gone for BT & AIT. What can I do so that the current order stays in affect while I am gone pertaining to visitation and custody. My husband has no issues with being the one to deal with my son's father during the exchange. I do not what to have to tear up my family anymore than I am with me leaving.
