Legal Question in Civil Litigation in New York

property

i let some friends use some of my belongings when they moved here from another state, i made it clear that when i mocved into my new house i wanted my stuff back. they are now refusing to give it back. how do i get my stuff back?

Re: property

If the property is one of a kind, then you would commence an action for specific performance (an Order directing friends to return property).

If the property may be replaced, you would have to calculate the replacement value of the property and commence an action for conversion. Judgment would be the money value of the property improperly taken by friends.
