Legal Question in Employment Law in New York

Defamation in the Workplace

I had a disagreement with my manager and in the heat of the argument said I quit and was calling my boss. When I spoke with my boss, things we soothed out and I was asked to come to work, in the meantime the manager somehow convinced my boss that I really quit and now I don't have a job. What are my rights in this situation?

Re: Defamation in the Workplace

You mentioned two people: Your Manager and your Boss. Regardless of whether you "quit" or not, if your Boss wants you to stay, why would he be overruled by your Manager?

You can contact my office via email or through SeveranceAttorney.com if you wish to discuss the above. My office may be able to assist you in either collecting severance benefits and unemployment or in attempting to get your job back.

Rule #1: Never Quit.

Rule #2: Make Them Fire You

Rule #3: Always Speak to an Attorney before #1 or #2.

In your email, state the name of the company, your position, years employed there, and date of termination. And of course, do not sign anything until consulting with an attorney!
