Legal Question in Employment Law in New York

is this descrimination?

not too long ago i was chatting about my religious beliefs @ work with a co-worker, they are different than most. business wasn't busy and so wrokers chat while it is slow. i respect others beliefs, but i think the boss heard and is against my beliefs. since then my hours have been cut and then i had been replaced. as far as my replacement,i just found this out today...i am out of a job. discrimination?! i feel my rights have been stomped on. they have been unfair, after all that i have done for the business, i never expected this. i was a perfect employee...more or less. actually, this problem is one of several i have with them, but this one problem may be considered discrimination, at the least, and what i can use legally in my defense. ?? help!

Re: is this descrimination?

It might be. If there is other evidence, it would make your case stronger but absent any other factors you may have a Title VII claim.

Should you like to discuss this or any other legal matter, you can call my office to schedule an appointment for a consultation or in the alternative, I can be reached for on-phone low-cost legal consultation at 1-800-275-5336 x0233699.

Re: is this descrimination?

Is there anything else that makes you think your boss chose to take these actions against you other than overhearing a conversation with coworkers? That by itself will probably be insufficient to raise an inference that your boss took the actions against you because of your religous beliefs. You are welcome to call for a free consultation.
