Legal Question in Employment Law in New York

My husband was let go from his job on thurs 7/30 and they gave him reasons that werent true. One reson was when some glass broke he was now where to be found, but he was outside looking around and the cameras even recorded this. Another time they said the Bronx office had a bomb scare and he didnt do anything about it. It happened at 11am but he worked 7pm-7am, so he wasnt even there

i just want to know if there is anything we can do

You do not say what type of job your husband had. Was he a public employee, covered by civil service? Is he a member of a union? In New York, employment is "at will", which means either the employee or the employer can end the employment relationship at any time, for any or no reason (provided the employer does not terminate the employee in violation of Federal, State, or local civil rights laws). However, a person covered by the civil service system has certain job protections under law, including the right to a hearing prior to termination. Most union contracts also contain protections for members, including the right to a hearing with a union representative present before a member can be terminated.

If he was not either a civil service employee or a union member, there may not be much that can be done. However, if he feels that he was terminated due to his race, religion, age, disability, or some other reason prohibited by law, he should consult an attorney experienced in employment law.
