Re: Termination for drug abuse

Depends on if you have a contract, if you are a union employee and the contract covers this, or if you are an at-will employee. Before you go confessing to anyone, go see a lawyer and confess to him. He will help you decide what is in your best interest and in the best interest of your employer.

Meanwhile, if you are having problems with drug or alcohol abuse, and you live in NY or Long Island, I urge you to call Robert Mulligan CSW in Wantagh. He is an excellent counselor. In addition, there is a group called Court Consultation Services in Mineola. They can help you with addiction problems in a safe caring and confidential way.

Good Luck.
