Legal Question in Consumer Law in Ohio

auto reposession and holding personal property for repo fee

my daughters vehicle was reposessed for non payment. The auto dealer is holding her personal property ,including drivers license, registeration and licence plates plus other large items, which is in the car and will not release any on them until we pay a 400.00 repo fee.they said they had to go get the vehichle and had to pay someone and no one is getting a thing until that repo fee is paid in full. I explained she needed her drivers license because it is againsat the law to drive with out one, thier reply was, tough luck, not thier problem, bring the money and I will release the itens, until then, whatever is in ther will be auctioned off when the vehichle is gone,

Re: auto reposession and holding personal property for repo fee

Instruct your daughter to go get another driver's license from the bmv - have her tell them she lost it...otherwise, call an attorney in your area to make a call to the person holding the property.

Call me directly is you wish.
