Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Ohio

Disputing a credit collection claim

Ive received a summons regarding a lawsuit against me. The case is a credit card collection against me. I was told that if I dispute the claim (or part of it), the creditor has to prove that I made these charges on my credit card. The question is what kind of proves they can use against me? Is a billing statement enough to prove these charges or they have to come up with the actual receipts? I am willing to pay part of it (or use a payment plan to pay it all) but they insist that they want it all. The charges are $3500 and they added about $1200 in fees. I just want to buy time to either come up with money or to file a bankruptcy.
