Legal Question in Criminal Law in Ohio

Should I plead not guilty? I was arrested & charged with disorderly conduct/intoxication after I left a bar with someone who had gotten into a fight (I was not involved in any way). When the police caught up with us they asked us together if we were there when the fight happened & we both said no at first (stupid & intoxicated). They arrested me for obstruction but after I was cooperative they let me go home & dropped the charge to disorderly. The next day the arresting officer told me to call prosecutor to get it dismissed before court. But prosecutor told me to go to court & plead not guilty & he would "help me out" since it's my first offense. Should I trust this? It's a waiverable ticket but if I take it to court and plead not guilty am I setting myself up for something worse? I'm not sure how this all works.

Plea "not Guilty". you will then get a new pre-trial date. At that Pretrial, speak with the prosecutor and ask that it be dismissed.
