Legal Question in Family Law in Ohio

I have acquired my child from the parent who has custody and to which I pay child support to. This event occurred several months ago and the parent has since disappeared. How can I a stop paying child support to the child that I am now raising acquire custody of my child? What do I need to present to the court?

Your zip code of "33132" does not appear to be in Ohio. This answer is for support orders issued through Ohio only. You should be able to contact your local CSEA (child support enforcement agency) and describe your change of circumstances to them. If they cannot assist you, you would have to petition the court, testify that you essentially have sole custody, present witnesses stating that the other parent has disappeared, and present evidence such as a CSEA printout showing the prior payments you made that you should be reimbursed.
