Child vistiations

Im a 20 yr old single parent of a 15 month old. I recieved a letter today demanding visitations for the father by an attorney. The father has not seen the baby since dec . and last time he said he wanted her up for adoption. Then his mother threaten to take her to fl. Im wondering what i should do I dont want him to have visitations. He tried to kill me when we were together thats why i left. I hope you can guide me in what to do. Thank you

I would suggest getting an attorney. Typically, the law favors both parents having an active role in your son/daughter's life. However, depending on the circumstances, the visitation could vary. If it is shown he may be harmful to the baby, the visitation could be limited and/or supervised. If he has an attorney, I really suggest you get one too.
