Legal Question in Civil Litigation in Ohio

Criminal judgments used in civil litigation

I was rear ended by someone while at a red light. The driver denies any involvement either by himself or his vehicle despite a positive identification, and animprint of his liscence plate on my bumper. If convicted criminally, is there any way for him to legally have this conviction kept out of evidence against him in the civil trial?

Re: Criminal judgments used in civil litigation

Only guilty pleas and findings of guilt in a trial can be used against the defendant in a civil action. If the Defendant plead no contest it will not be used in the civil case. But that is not a big deal.
