Eviction

The house in wich I'm liveing in was sold at auction Jan. 2 2004,the new owner wants me out.What are my wrights and how long dose an eviction take? The house belonged to my mother who passed away july 1 2003.Im not paying rent or never have paid rent to my mother,I do recive my mail at this resadence and the utility bills are in my name.I have not recived anything from the courts telling me to vacate or gottin a court date or eviction notice.I keep geting a none formal letter on my door that says there going to lock me out.Thank you

In a foreclosure, the bank will use the procedure called a writ of possession. This is where the sheriff evicts you. They will put a notice on your door when they will be out to your house. At that point your personal items will either be placed on the curb or you can take them.

Call the sheriff for a time frame, but it normally takes about 1 to 2 months.
