Legal Question in Traffic Law in Ohio

car accident

I was test driving a truck for sale by owner. The brakes were very weak counld not get car stop at first stop sign. I then had to run stop sign and I went up hill and hit some steps to stop truck. I sighted with a seatbelt ticket only at the scene. I was then contacted two days later by the state tropper which was to inform wme he was also going to sight me for the stop sign. I wanted to know by ohio laws am I finically responsiable to fix the car that I drove down one street?

You should not be found guilty of the stop sign. Two different insurances come into play to resolve property damage issues.
