Legal Question in Workers Comp in Ohio

personal injury suit

i was injured at a bank as an employee 3 yrs ago i am currently on bwc a vault door hit into me causing a back injury failure to replace a steel floor door stop for the vault door caused my injury. my atty. for this whole bwc process says i cannot sue this bank for this injury that workmans comp is the replacement for any suit that could be filed is this correct.during this 3 yrs i have lost my home due to lost revenue, my husband of 31 yrs left for several reasons due to this injury i wont go into as well as my physical limitations i now have and emotional problems i now have and am under drs care for and this is a disability i am left with and i am to understand that this employer is not legally responsible except under workmans comp is this correct. thank you

Unless it was an employer intentional tort, which your case does not appear to be, BWC is your only recourse.
