Legal Question in Criminal Law in Oklahoma

I was recently elected to the city council here in a small town on Oklahoma (700 people). I took office in April of 09. The pay for being on the city council (board trustee) was $ 550 a month. This was paid to me for the last 6 months. Now I am being charged an (embezelment) FELONY charge for recieving this pay from the city. This has been paid to the trustees for over 15 yrs. Although " I " have just been on the board for 6 months. I do have a copy of an ordinance that was signed by all 5 board members but was possibly night filed properly back in 07 (which would hopefully clear me ?). I work for a big gaming company and since this has been in the newspaper my gaming license has now been suspended and my job is now in jepoerdy. All the board members that has been on the board in the past 20 yrs is being charged felonie embezelment.
