Legal Question in Consumer Law in Pennsylvania

Phone company disconnected service

After 1st month of service Cavtel phone company disconnected my local area code phone service without any prior notice.

After several days of calling them they explained that my long distance bill was hight that--name removed--why they disconnected it. I never got any letter or phone call explaining it.

When signed up i asked too keep my existing Long Distance provider company, they failed to do that stating they had no records of this request.

They agreed to recalculate the rates to same as my longdistance company had.

Promissed to fix it, gave me runarounds, I could not use my home phone for 1.5 month, took me few weeks to get back to Verizon.

They kept billing me for the service which i could not use,

I send them several emails, called the billing department, was forwarded to the mangers voice mail, left few msgs, never heard anything back.

Called them again asked to disconnect, was told to send proper rates and calulations, and wait for the new corrected bill with compensation and that i shouldnt worry about late fees.

Faxed the proper rates sheets along with explanation of the problem

Few month passed, no response, only bills with late fees. Now i got the COLLECTION agency letter asking me to pay.

ADVISE?
