Crefitor herassment

How often can a creditor call your home before it is concidered herassment? Currently they call about 3 times a day morning noon and late evening and the same for the weekend.

Re: Creditor harassment

You asked about stopping creditor harassment.

From your description it sounds as if they are right at the line of harassment but probably not over.

Look online for resources discussing the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act. The law is fairly well developed as to how stop annoying debt collectors in their tracks. One big distinction is whether you are being hounded by the creditor or a debt collector.

If your situation qualifies for relief you should speak to an attorney as you may be eligible for statutory damages and also attorneys fees (the debt collector has to pay for your lawyer).

Roger

Re: Crefitor herassment

Have you told them to stop calling? Have you written them to tell them to stop calling? What times do they call?

There could be violations of the law involved depending on the circumstances. Please provide more information--email me if you wish.

If they violate the law, you may be able to sue them for the violation.
