Legal Question in Criminal Law in Pennsylvania

Police and their resposibilty to community

If an individual is under Fed. investigation and the local PD is aware and are conducting their own surveilence on another matter (w/ that person) and they clearly state in a search warrant that an individual (informant) has viewed & verified that the item (gun) is infact in the location PD beleives it is in. And that item is for sale. That item being linked to murder in another state..not involving the person who Feds is investigating but behind the property which he lives. Isnt this improper/neglect on the part of the police to leave that item there for over 1 month and1/2? Knowing what they knew about the gun, the danger of it being sold and the community safety as well. It seems to me that they owe they neglected the community for the sake of gathering more and more evidence against individual in Fed. matter.

Re: Police and their responsibility to community

If this individual in question doesn't have a lawyer then he should get one. Trying to deflect culpability by a red herring seems a questionable strategy.
