Legal Question in Family Law in Pennsylvania

My daughter in PA will be allowing her sister in Az to adopt her unborn child. This will happen in approx 3 months. I would like to insure that it is done legally. I understand that my daughter in AZ will have to initiate the process, not sure what state it will need to begin. I have no idea how simple or complicated this process can be. Any information would be helpful to get the process started.

You will need to consult an attorney in Arizona to answer your questions, since that's where the Petition for Adoption will be filed. I suppose it could be filed here in Pennsylvania too, but it might as well be Arizona since that's where child and adoptive mother will be living. It's probably cleaner that way.

Best of luck to you and your family.

With all deference to other attorneys, I would file the Adoption here...reason being is that I assume the unborn child's father resides nearby, and I believe he will have to relinquish his rights too.
