Legal Question in Family Law in Pennsylvania

My husband and I are having marital problems. He has sold our house without me knowing. He sinced picked out a house in which we live in now. Because of our problems he keeps changing the locks on the door whereas me and my kids are constantly locked out. I can't take the mental abuse any longer so I am now staying with other family. Is my husband allowed to do this?

You do not indicate when the house was sold or whether it was titled in both names. If titled in both names and he forged or had someone else sign your name on the transaction this would not be legal. If the house were in his name alone it is possible he could sell it on his own however title companies would most like ly require a spouses signature as well on the deed. He should not be changing the locks to exclude you from the marital home. However every situation is different and you would be advised to consult with a family law lawyer to discuss the facts of your case. If you would like to speak about your situation feel free to schedule an appointment.
