Lost marriage License

How can I obtain a copy of a lost marriage license.

Is this needed to obtain a divorce

Where your marriage license is filed depends where you got married. It varies by state.

The only information you need is the date and location where you were married.

Because generally the cost of filing for divorce is over $200 the courts tend to assume that you would only file for divorce from someone you're married to. So you really don't have to have the marriage license.
