I was involved in an auto accident on (11-08-01).The cause of the accident was due to a construction company doing work

on the roadway.I would like to take them to small claims court. Is there a statue of limitations to do so?

Re: statue of limitations

There sure is a statute of limitations. In Pennsylvania, for accident claims, the limit is two years. You have to sue within 2 years of the accident date.

Different time limits apply to other types of claims and it can be pretty complicated to figure out all the possibilities, with various exceptions and other rules. I always try to satisfy the earliest possible date.

Re: statue of limitations

Generally two years. However, if the entity was an arm of the government (i.e PEnnDot), you need to put them on notice within a much shorter time period.
