Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in Pennsylvania

I wanted to move into a rent to own house.. told the management co this... was told that when I paid the rent ontime for a year that this would be possible...well we rec'd a tenant notice saying that the owner will be forclosed on in Nov 10 2009 .. called the mangement co... she acted surprised called the owner ... said the owner has been doing a loan mod since Feb 2009 but the clerk was fired and they were wating for another one to take her place.. well we waited a month and still nothing...so I emailed the management co yesterday..now I am told that the owner is trying to sell the house... someone along the way knew something was going on... I cant beleive that that management co didnt know this and not give us the option at the begining before taking my deposit to let me make this descision... Now would the managment co have to find us somewhere else to live? Or could i let them know that I can put my rent in escrow for 3 months so that I can find somewhere else to live?

If you have a written lease it should have had an option to purchase. Or you could have entered into what is called a lease purchase agreement. if you have nothing in writing your options are limited if you have a written lease it may afford you some protection. You should review any written agreement you have and should consider getting an opinion from an attorney.
