If you do not have an attorney for a medical malpractice case, you need to make inquiries immediately through this list, your Yellow Pages, or your local Bar Association.

There been a number of questions on this list regarding the pursuit of a medical malpractice case without an attorney.

Most medical malpractice attorneys will provide initial phone consultation for free. If they believe that they can win money on your case, they will generally offer to take it on a percentage basis.

If for some reason, you decide you want to proceed �pro se�, be prepared to invest hundreds of hours, many tens of thousands of dollars for legal consultation, hiring expert witnesses and other costs, that may be an option, but in general, most people would not choose this route.
