Grandfathered Property or Non Conformence

Could you please explain what it means when a property is considered ''Grandfathered'' and how that is similar or different to having a non conformence title.

Granfathered is a term utilized that allows a particular use to continue to be utilized that was in existence prior to the enactment of a change in zoning. It is similar to non conforming use in that if a particular use was in effect at the time of a zoning change, the zoning change can not effect that use as long as it continue to be used in the same fashion. Suggest you present your particular issue to an attorney for review.
