Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in Pennsylvania

Inquiry of stocks and trust of deceased sibling?

My sister is deceased. Our family wants to know if my sister has accrued any unclaimed funds invested in various stocks and savings bonds, as a result of a insurance settlement before her death. Also we would like to settle any unpaid debts or taxes she may owe.We are unaware of the attorneys office who settled her estate. We believe this maybe a possible embezzlement issue. Who should we contact to get all of my sisters documents for all due benefits?

You need to go to the register of wills of the county your sister resided in at her death. They can tell you if an estate was filed.

There are two ways, first if her estate was probated, all of the assets would be listed at the register of wills in the county she resided / died in. Furthermore, if this was never done, you will need to do some leg work and go through any and all documents she may have had in her possession to ascertain what if any property or assets she possessed at the time of her death.

My office also offers flat rate pricing and free consultations, for additional information please visit my firm's website at www.AlleghenyAttorneys.com or by calling my office at 412.731.0865.
