Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in Pennsylvania

Time frame for probate

My mother just died and my brother went to a lawyer to probate the will two days before she was buried and wants to have a family meeting the day after her furneral to divide her belongings. I know the will needed to be probated but how long do we have before everything must be finalized. Does the law have a set time limit. Thank You

Re: Time frame for probate

Unless there are pressing needs have everyone take a couple of weeks and start working through to resolve your grief. You can certainly take this much time and still have plenty of befor the estate needs to be filed. I offer free consultations.
