Legal Question in Legal Ethics in Tennessee

Hours at a Job

My question is this: I forogt to clock out a week ago and notified the store manager that I forgot. He said he would fix it but he never did. He then decides he will take 13 hours off of my next check despite his own mistake. Is this legal and if not what actions can I pursue?

Re: Hours at a Job

You are entitled to payment for hours worked.

Check with your state wages and hours commission, but it's YOUR responsibility to make sure your employer knew about your pay problem (that is, if you want to get paid).

In writing.
