How do you become a lawyer?

After you get a B.S. degree from college, you take the LSAT exam, and apply to law school. Admission requirements (GPA and LSAT score) will differ depending on the school you apply.

How long does it take to be one?

Law school usually takes 3 years to complete. Some law schools allow you to go part time and if you chose to go part time it may take as long as 5 years. There are pleny of fine schools you can choose from.

How much do you earn per year?

Some law schools will publish average salaries of their alumni. Check with some schools. However, salaries vary greatly, depending on the type of law that you practice, your skill level, and years of experience.

What skills and education are required to be a lawyer?

Other than having a B.S. degree, there is nothing more required. However, the core essence of every lawyer is a desire to help people.

What do you mainly defend?

Lawyers are basically divided into 2 groups.

(1) civil and (2) criminal . Generally, on the civil side, you have plaintiff attorneys and defense attorneys. Generally, on the criminal side, you will have prosecutors and defense attorneys. Who they represent will depend on the group they are in.
