Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Texas

The Texas Civil Practice & Remedies Code provides a 4-year limitations period for types of debt. The SoL begins after the day the cause of action accrues, (Section 16.004 (a) (3)). What does that actually mean? Does the statue of limitation on a resedential remodel begin the day after the job is completed or does it begin the day after a dispute between contractor and home owner on what the final sum of monies is due.

Actually, the day the cause of action accrues is a point that results in a great deal of litigation. It is common for attorneys in a specific fact situation to disagree on the date of accrual. Take all of your documents and meet with an attorney, specifically for a consultation on this issue.
