community service as punishment
After being convicted of a misdemenor...is there any way to go back to get a different sentence type. can the sentence be changed, like an appeal

It depends upon what happened at the plea. It also depends upon whether the plea occurred less than 30 days ago. It also depends upon whether the defendant entered an plea agreement, and the court followed - or deviated from - the plea. You will need a copy of the file and consult with an attorney who can review the proceedings. If you plan to take action, you have to act fast, because if there are options, then there are strict deadlines.
