Legal Question in Family Law in Texas

Spouse renigging on divorce decree agreement

My ex-wife and I agreed not to do a 50/50 split. She would buy me out of my 50% and apply it to what I would owe towards child support based on my current salary. Keep in mind, my ex-wife make at least twice what I make, not that this will matter. The first three years I'd pay $300/month until my truck is paid off. After that I would pay $650/month for the next ten years. I make my support payments via direct deposit and haven't missed one yet. I don't live beyond my means and barely have money to save for retirement much less my children's college, but I do what I can for them when I have them.

Recently my ex-wife has decided that the agreement we had is not enough and now she wants $950/month starting now or we're going to court. Now she has retained an attourney at $295/hour. If I am forced to pay this amount or even more than I pay now, it would require me to incur addition legal expenses, expenses from selling my house, as well as moving expenses that I cannot afford. Any legal advice is greatly appreciated. Please email any info to:

Thank you

Child support is based upon a %age of net resources for the number of children. If you are looking to keep your assets, you should find a good lawyer ASAP.
