Legal Question in Civil Litigation in Texas

Harassment

I am in a relationship with a man that has been divorced for over a year and separated for 18 months prior to the divorce, his ex-wife habitually calls my cell phone and if I answer she hangs up, if I ignore her call she leaves vulgar and threatening voice messages. I have repeatedly asked her to stop to no avail, do I have a legal recourse to file a restraining order to prevent her from contacting me in any way?

Re: Harassment

Based on what you have written, you may have a few potential avenues to pursue. You might want to discuss the actions of the ex-spouse with your current partner and see what suggestions he may have to resolve the telephone calls and/or messages. Additionally, you might want to consider contacting the local police or district attorney's office for potential criminal charges. If my local law firm can assist you with this legal issue or any other legal matter, please contact my paralegal Tina ([email protected]) to arrange for an initial consultation.
