The question is one of Texas law if the condo is in Texas. If there is no rent control statute, there is no issue. If there is a rent control statute, typically they do not govern rent of single family residences such as a condominium unit. Call the local City or County government office to ascertain whether there is a rent control ordiance and if so if it affects single family condo units.
